Crestor® Side Effects Joint Pain

Crestor® Side Effects Joint Pain:  Have you been affected by Crestor® Side Effects.   Crestor® is highly effective in lowering LDL but can also produce many unwanted side effects including but not limited to, Joint Pain and Muscle Pain.  The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory includes an insert for the patient, as well as the prescriber, stressing the importance of evaluating the risks of taking Crestor®.  Since its introduction, there have been reports of kidney damage, renal failure, Rhabdomyolysis and possibly, death.   If you believe your Crestor® use has put you or a loved one in danger, contact our Crestor® lawyers today.

Pharmaceutical giant, AstraZeneca, manufactures Crestor®, a cholesterol reducing drug approved by the FDA in 2003.  A non-profit public interest group, Public Citizen, believes Crestor® side effects could prove to be permanently incapacitating or even cause deaths.  This group is not associated with the FDA or any drug manufacturer.   While the cause remains unclear, endocrine, metabolic and genetic factors are believed to play a role in the Crestor® Side Effects such as Joint Pain and Muscle Pain associated with the use of this medication.   Higher doses of Crestor® are also linked to several Crestor® Side Effects one of which is muscle pain and tenderness and a result of a condition called statin myopathy.  Statin myopathy impairs the production of certain proteins involved in muscle metabolism and function. Statin myopathy is believed to have been detected with Crestor®.

Crestor® Joint Pain along with other Crestor® Side Effects are thought to be attributed to the above mentioned, potentially very serious side effect, Rhabdomyolysis which occurs when a large number of skeletal muscle cells die. The death of the skeletal muscle cells results in the release of a massive amount of muscle protein into the bloodstream. This flood of muscle protein in the blood leads to the most potentially lethal of Crestor® Side Effects. The muscle protein becomes trapped in the kidneys, affecting the filtering process of the kidneys leading to possible, if not probable, kidney failure. Other related side effects include cardiac arrest resulting from potassium released from the damaged muscle cells.

Joint Pain and Muscle Pain are among the many overwhelming; potentially lethal, Crestor® Side Effects. For a number of years the serious nature of the side effects of Crestor® have led to the public interest group, Public Citizen making demand to the FDA for a Crestor® recall. Crestor® has not been recalled and it is not known at this time if a recall will be made.  The side effects of taking Crestor® are significant, possibly life altering, potentially lethal and include: cardiomyopathy, myopathy, necrotizing myopathy, heart attack, type 2 diabetes, sudden cardiac death, kidney failure and death from a heart related condition.
